Manitoba has many lakes and rivers that have shaped its history and economy. There are thousands of water lakes, arctic shrub lands and large forests that stretch across rocky regions. Because of that, Manitoba has the largest in land fishing industry in the country. There are wide-open flax seeds prairies with fields of golden wheat. Manitoba is also the Canada’s biggest producer of sunflower. It is considered one of the Prairie Provinces because the land is flat and dry. The flat landscape and rich soil make this region ideal for agriculture. Grain crops such as oats, barley, canola and flax are the most important agriculture here.

In 1830, Lower Fort Garry was built by the Hudson's Bay Company on the west of the Red River. It is located in 20 miles north of the Fort Garry, now Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
